BRUSSELS, 26 September 2018 – The European Banking Federation & co-organiser B-Hive look back at a succesful international fintech conference held in Brussels on 26 September. More than 450 innovators and financial services stakeholders attended the auditorium of the National Bank of Belgium. The event, which addressed the most relevant and current developments in the banking and finance industry. The main stage welcomed bank representatives, technology providers, policy makers and regulators that addressed topics such as financial regulation, artifical intelligence, open banking and cybersecurity. The breakout sessions which saw intervention of high-level EU officials including Roberto Viola, Director-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology of the European Commission, Mehdi Manaa, Deputy Director General of the Market Infrastructure and Payments Directorate at the European Central Bank and many more.
After an all-female Artificial Intelligence, Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, Mariya Gabriel highlighted the need for boosting diversity in technology and finance, in particular calling for more women in tech and the initiatives #WomeninTech and #NoWomanNoPanel.
